Green Mountain Coffee Roasters (GMCR) announces Snapple (DPS) ice teas will be available in K-Cup and Vue packs for the Keurig single cup brewing system in 2013. The move pits the company in even closer competition with Sodastream (SODA) in North America.

  • Now that's a stretch - hot drink v cold drinks?

Are you trying to say the Snapple products will pass thru the Keurig with cold water? Really?

I suspect they will be brewed and then you chill the results.

I do not know where you are going with this, but it is not a viable attack on SODA - much less GMCR.
SODA serves up multi-servings of cold beverages as opposed to single servings of hot beverages. Where's the toe stepping?

Irrespective, the two ARE NOT competitors. GMCR competes with all the single serve BREWED beverage wannabes and ripper-offers.

So I see no 'pitting' - just a company trying to expand its flavor offerings in a way traditional to its core product.

For all the talk of GMCR's demise, they are still around [so is SODA, RIMM, NFLX, etc], as the bears/shorts try to come up with any link, no matter how ridiculous that they are in a losing battle to competition.

  • Five minutes on keurigs website would show you that you brew iced beverages into a cup of ice.

  • I thought winter was coming...brew it hot, drink it hot. Looks like a reasonable alternative to coffee or tea.
