    California's crazy gas price spike may be over - for now - as prices dropped overnight by an average of a half-cent per gallon, to the still stunning level of $4.666. A spate of refinery problems cut the state's gasoline supplies by 122K bbl., or 2.1%, to 5.77M in the week ended Sept. 28, down 10% Y/Y and the lowest inventory level for that period since 1999.

    15 years ago, my friend who then worked for Mobil HK said there is only 20 years left in global supply. I see more and more usage of plastic wares in light of the plastic bag clampdown.

    California is beautiful with great climate. Unfortunately it has a gargantuan government that is punishing those who work. Who pays those onerous propert taxes? Isn't those living in public housing....is the middle class.

    CALPERS needs rates of more than 8% to sustain the pension system. The problem is they are underperforming these last two years! In a market that is up! What is going to happen if a crash ensues?

    I think California would like to go for Romney on economics issues, but the divide on social issues is just too wide. Too bad the Republicans can't come across to seculars, there isn't any real reason why believing in a responsible economy should have to correlate with opposing abortion and gay marriage.
