Wednesday, October 10, 2012, 2:31 PM ETNXP (NXPI -5.7%) is slumping on reports a Broadcom (BRCM -0.9%) NFC chip will be used in Google's next Android reference design - an NXP chip is used in the current design. Goldman tries to downplay the news, arguing NFC chips make up less than 5% of NXP's sales (ed: but their share is growing quickly). NXP is the early leader in the NFC chip market, and managed to score a design win for Samsung's hit Galaxy S III.
