Education stocks are on watch after Bridgepoint Education reveals it's under investigation by the DOJ. The sector could take a hit with an increasing focus on the practice of companies of tying compensation to recruiting levels. Lawmakers (and taxpayers) are less than thrilled with the prevailing quantity over quality sentiment in the sector. BPI -13.5% premarket.

"quantity over quality sentiment in the sector." = Greed. Education should not be tied to capitalism, for the two are mutally incompatible. All educational institutions should be non-profit and require that entrance is competitive.

I just don't agree with your premise. Khan Academy is giving it away, private schools offer innovation in the whole sector. I'm not saying privitize every school but there imo there is certainly room for private schools in the sector. Tell me where your model works, and how one could even contain that model in a owrld that is increasingly tied by internet. It is certainly not greed- it is incentive.
