IBM is reportedly in advanced talks to buy Red Bend, an Israeli developer of mobile virtualization and device management software, for $200M-$250M. Red Bend's offerings, which compete with VMware (I, II) and Citrix, allow multiple operating systems to be installed on a mobile device, and help service providers handle remote updates. The company, which has over 80 customers, also offers mobile analytics tools, something that ties into Big Blue's broader analytics push.
