Lost in part of the political mumbo-jumbo over the failure of the company is the bigger theme that automakers are starting to see better opportunities by focusing on the hybrid-electric market, rather than the all-electric, on a purely economic rationale.

Sources of power and vehicular motivation requires a special innovation that's married, not just dating. Consider just only magnetic thrust motors, similar to Tesla (but I don't personally think Tesla has the answer yet). Tesla is on the way, but there needs to be much done with the charging system and the "what if's". Battery life is only 5-7 yrs. What is the battery replacement value doesn't drop? $12k-$30k is not a fair replacement value for a vehicle only valued brand new at $50k. What fails in lithium where it cannot be recharged indefinately? Just a few thoughts to kick this study thread off.
