    Shortly after having discontinued the oversized Kindle DX, Amazon (AMZN) appears to have discontinued the Kindle Touch, paidContent observes. That would leave the costlier and favorably-reviewed Kindle Paperwhite as Amazon's only touchscreen e-reader. Amazon, which is using aggressive pricing to prop up e-reader sales in the face of a tablet onslaught, also sells an inexpensive non-touchscreen Kindle and the legacy Kindle Keyboard.

    I bought the Kindle Touch and was very disappointed. The touch screen did not work very well, requiring me to sometimes touch about three or four times before anything would happen. Kindle works much better on an iPhone than on Amazon's own hardware. To me this casts doubt on their ability to compete effectively on the hardware. Not a battle I'd like to get into with Apple.

    Odd. Jeff B. said they were offering the best e-readers/tablets at any price. That's a chunk of design $$$s down the drain. Jeff will do the finesse. Perhaps he'll count the cancellation as "revenue".

    Interesting input but I was hoping for opinions on this weeks coming earnings report. Puts or Calls?
