    More on Corning (GLW) Q3 earnings: "The weakening economy is affecting sales in many of our businesses ... We believe these economic headwinds will persist to next year ... We are likely to implement selected cost reductions." Price declines in the display business in Q4 are expected to outpace those in the previous 2 Qs. Shares -1.5% premarket. Earnings call is at 8:30 ET. (PR)

    Okay, where are all the blogsters screaming "Buy"? I guess "gorilla glass" wasn't the panacea after all!

    The market reaction today demonstrates how misinformed some investors are. Then again, at least once a week I see on SA an article about how Gorilla Glass is going to rescue GLW.

    It is ridiculous. GLW is a good company with lots of cash and fine prospects but near term it is very challenged by both Big Glass margin compression and a poor macro environment for its other lines.

    I'll be back in buying if it dips down under 11.

    I have enough shares, so now I'm just going to sulk.
