When AA needs finance, which they do not seem to need or at least urgently need in the near future, and the congress acts to open foreign ownership - AA will go and pray to the nearer church than the far away Qatar and will get finance from IAG (BA&IB) with whom AA has a very solid comprehensive promising productive Joint Business (JB) - with a World spreading ATI - for that BA (and IB) cannot imagine or tolerate AA falling or going to a competitor, which means that BA's powers Across the Atlantic and the other BA/AA JB coverage will drop to half. For even if the congress does not act to open up foreign ownership of US Airlines and AA has to be sold or seeks partnership finance, BA will find the legal way to invest in a large US Investment Company enough capital that would allow the US investment company to outright purchase AA - indirectly Legally, using BA's Finance. Money abundantly available to Qatar (and by proxy to Qatar Airways) is not enough for them to aspire a role in AA.

I am an old young man very active in my life - in 1960 - after graduating from the American University of Beirut - I joined as management trainee MEA the national Airline of Lebanon for one year after which I moved to British European Airways (which later merged with BOAC to become BA) as Sales Manager ME - in 1965 I joined Cathay Pacific as Manager ME based in Beirut as Manager ME and in 1975 I was transferred to Bahrain to Launch CXs ME operation and was promoted to GM ME and the same time appointed as General Agent for CX for 20 Countries - this transited me from an employee position to a specialised business aviation position of GA/GSA. I stayed with CX until 1994 when I returned to Lebanon. During the years and since 1975 my organisation became for periods GSA for AA/NWA/United/Turkish Airlines/Egypt Air and many others. In 1994 I founded (with other 4 partners) British Mediterranean Airways (BMED) to initially operate as a British carrier the route LHR/BEY and after 2 years BMED became a BA Franchisee to grow to 12 air crafts and 16 destinations until sold to BMI in 2007.
I consider myself as a person who knows a lot about the aviation industry and continue to study the world intriguing fast change on the world airlines movements
