I'm all for fracking, but the absence of any required setbacks from nuclear facilities certainly doesn't mean fracking close to nuclear plants is safe. I hate to say it, but the greenies might be right on this issue.

Then, how safe is nuclear power, if drilling a 12 inch hole, one mile away, causes a nuclear reactor to explode?

Let's hope a herd of wood chucks doesn't launch a suicide attack against a reactor.

lol......with all of CHK's other problems this year, they really don't need to be mucking about anywhere in the vicinity of a nuke plant. Not smart.

They already drilled a few maybe four wells near the dam by the Glenrose nuke plant 50 mi south of Dallas....we had a report of an incident at one of the drill sites in Genrose and it took me all morning to ensure it was not one of the wells by the dam.....lots of dead animals in the vicinity of one padsite is what was reported...

Not a good idea to pursue fracking with possible earthquake inducing potential within a few miles of a nuclear plant.
