I'm an independent investor> Part (20%) of my assets are with a financial advisor on a fee basis.
My comment is more of a question. I don't understand why opinions about Baidu are so split between cheerleaders and doomsayers AND why each side sees this as a black or white situation. Will this latest earnings report convince members of either team to change their opinion?
this is now like the facebook problem of past few months...went from 50% yr/yr rev growth to nil to slightly declining now on a sequential basis....mobile monetization and competition concerns now confirmed and mgmt comments indicate costs will rise so margin pressure next couple of quarters while they try to take back share and reinvigorate topline ...one wonders how much of a threat qihoo is but clearly it didnt take them long to make some progress...personally had been more skeptical that they'd hit a wall this quick but happy to be short for now as already negative street not going to be getting more positive anytime soon.....

Competition smells blood and is now ganging up on BIDU.
Keyword pricing may collapse anytime now.
Baidu is fighting back, but the battle will be very ugly down the road.
