Tuesday, October 30, 2012, 12:18 PM ETEMC is buying Silver Tail Systems, a developer of software that analyzes Web/mobile activity to detect security threats and fraud, for an undisclosed sum. Silver Tail, which will be added to EMC's RSA security unit, meshes with EMC's stated goal of buying security companies with promising tech. It's also something of an analytics play, given Silver Tail's software is used to analyze huge volumes of Web traffic. (PR) (Zscaler investment)
