Could some DRAM makers join Elpida in being driven out of business? Powerchip reported a $123M Q3 loss and just saw trading in its shares suspended on Taiwan's OTC market. Inotera, a Micron/Nanya JV, posted a $150M Q3 loss, and Nanya itself also posting big losses. Any additional failures would give Micron (NASDAQ:MU), Samsung (OTC:SSNLF), and SK Hynix the chance to further strengthen their hands and lower supply amidst a bleak PC demand backdrop.
