    H-P (HPQ) has named Martin Fink, a 27-year company vet and most recently the GM of its high-end server business, its new CTO and director of HP Labs. Former CTO Prith Banerjee left in April.

    I tried to bottom-fish HPQ and missed by at least 25%.

  • Brilliant move on HP's part. Take the guy who was in charge of the Itanic business, who sponsored the ever-so-successful Neoview debacle, someone with absolutely no research credentials, and put him in charge of HP Labs, and in charge of technology strategy as CTO. Way to go, Meg!
