Rumors, Rumors, Rumors. Even if MSFT were to manufactur a phone, it would still be using Nokia products, Nokia MAP, location and commerce etc throughout the device. It would still be paying Nokia royalties for IP and would probably be involved in the design aspect. MSFT is paying Nokia a Billion a year to manufacture Windows based phones, why would they do this if they intended to do it themselves? Might as well just buy Nokia outright then.

Ha, so what's the fuss?, Samsung, APPL, HTC, & Alcatel are all pioneers in making smartphone but still can't do zilts to beat the innovative NOKIA's smartphone, so what more MSFT......However, the support for the 3rd ecosystem by the Wp8 OEM's is needed to flood the shelves with nothing but window phones, W8 needs more device OEM's to continue it's progressing success...On the other hand MSFT's surface phone will be nothing but a canivalized smartphone similar to iPhone.

There will be no difference on the statue of successful Galaxy S3 as to Google's MOT razor to innovative Lumia 920 to Msft's surface phone......

NOKIA is back...it will be over $3.00 by next week which will still be below book value....Lumia 920 & L820 will be hitting the shelves next week....All pre-orders in France, Italy & yesterday Sweden are all sold out...Yesterday Germany hit the 80% mark & Lumia in China is racing to take the top spot on carriers billboard chart.....need I say more?

I have been impatiently waiting for the Lumia 920. My wife's phone is falling apart and I want to upgrade my Lumia 900...we both are looking forward to the PureView camera.

Even if MSFT does a phone, we probably will stick with NOK. With AAPL products, its about being "cool", OEMs wouldn't work. With MSFT/NOK products, its about functionality. MSFT would have to release a better product than NOK, which will be extremely difficult to do.

Exactly. Just imagine Msft have to rely with other manufacturer to produce their phone. What does that tell you...They have no knowledge yet, at the same time their infrastructure is ziltz zero
