It's a good move, but its too way late. He should have been sacked 5 years ago when he said arm was no threat given its revenues.
Unless they hire Jenhsun Huang I don't see any external canditates with the mobile relationships to help.
It's not too late to take an arm license and generate some internal competition.
And the reason Intel should take an Arm license is not to save power.
A major CEO does not one day out of the blue retire and leave the company....
Should he be sacked? judging by the share price which hasn't gone anywhere in the last 5 years, yeah, he should.
A lot of CEOs should be sacked but the problem is you have to balance out long term goals with share price movement...unfortunately INTC has failed miserably when it comes to their stock price...the next CEO will know this
