Net earnings more than doubled as the supplier of electronic-display systems saw a sharp rise in sales to transportation, schools and theatres. Commercial sales of large video displays and electronic billboards fell 9% to $39.8M, but live events sales climbed 8.4% to $50.6M, while sales to schools and theaters jumped 26% to $21.7M. Gross margin also rose to 28.3% from 23.2%.
