Early reports from on the street indicate organized labor protests at Wal-Mart (WMT) stores aren't disrupting Black Friday traffic. The activist group spearheading the effort estimated that close to 25% of all stores would see protests, but live webcams and TV shots from various locations show little action other than frenzied shopping.

  • The union organizers don't understand that to the WalMart workers, their jobs are their bread and butter.

  • The article says "as many as 25%".

Well, so far the union-favorable news blurbs are bragging about 12 stores with protests or walkouts.

I guess Walmart must have closed 8,950 of it's 9000 stores...

  • My compliments to the posts above, all spot-on!

Another union & left media inspired debacle following Hostess loss of 18,000 jobs, following the nonsense in Wisconsin. You can't make this stuff up!

You'd think they would find a new activist cause when they can't find enough organizing support with this NLRB, media, & President!

I listened to a radio call in show Wednesday where they asked WalMart employees to call in & sound-off. Didn't go as planned! Not one said they were required to work. Pay was double-time & stores asked for volunteers. Those that called in said there were plenty of volunteers so staffing opportunity was by seniority. Only one woman complained that she didn't want to work, but needed the money because the economy is so bad. Ooookaaayy! Even the moderator didn't know how to spin that one!

  • Would the unions be happy if all the jobs were in in Asia and India, they have done such a good job making labor unaffordable that companies have moved whatever parts of their businesses they can out of the USA!!!
