    Low food stocks, surging demand, zero interest rates, and bad weather combine to create a subprime crisis for emerging markets. If governments don't want to get "Egypted," they should stop worrying about their credit rating and take steps to ease the burden of surging food prices on their citizens.

    The economic imbalances and poor policy response is not only suffered by emerging economies, but all over the world. Pro-democratic movements that can be a better platform to correct these imbalances are a good thing. We can certainly use some correcting in this country too starting with the federal reserve and treasury and then helping out globally by dissolving the IMF and Worldbank.
