  • I suppose it is a buy signal unless the hedge funds and pension funds are manipulating the market to squeeze every last dollar before they let it collapse. Historica; precedents:
JP Morgan tried to single-handedly hold off the great depression by buying stock and letting the word out that he was buying.
Goldman Sachs and their cohorts tried to milk the market than depart before the stuff hit the fan per Greenspan's interview @ 2 years ago..

  • Most definitely an attempt at manipulation - this does however offer opportunity for some nice buying, as the strength iin many of the stocks will prevail in the end.

  • Right now I'm a janitor working for a well known Gov't agency, after being a career oriented submarine sailor, but will be retiring, very soon. My next job will be watching my portfolio grow and making adjustments as needed twice per month as allowed by TSP.

  • Just a suggestion from a retired ole sea cap'n. Watch out for the sharks that swim on the land. They hide better than a decorator crab, lie better than a con man, are more vicious than a pack of hornets on killer bee steroids. The investment world, like any other place where money is concerned, rife with charlatans, soothsayers, crooks, and criminals. Be sure you watch everything.

Sorry, but welcome to the grinder. I call it "Hogan's Alley", you know it as the stock market.

    Welcome and good luck
