Intel's (INTC +1.3%) plans to lower CPU power draw (and thus make its chips more tablet-friendly) extend not only to its next-gen Haswell platform, but also its current Ivy Bridge family, according to CNET. Whereas Intel's most power-efficient Ivy Bridge CPUs currently have a max draw of 17W, an upcoming chip will reportedly draw just 10W. Intel's Clover Trail Atom CPU has scored numerous design wins, but its performance isn't close to that of 17W Ivy Bridge parts. Digitimes recently reported Intel will release a number of new Ivy Bridge CPUs in Q1. (Bay Trail)
