AT&T (T) has bumped up its 2012 smartphone sales forecast to 26M from 25M, while adding 6.4M...

    AT&T (T) has bumped up its 2012 smartphone sales forecast to 26M from 25M, while adding 6.4M smartphones were sold over the first 2 months of Q4. For reference, Ma Bell sold 6M smartphones in the first 2 months of Q4 last year, and 6.1M in the whole of Q3. The disclosure is a modest positive for Apple (AAPL), given the iPhone accounted for 77% of AT&T's Q3 smartphone sales. And also for Synchronoss (SNCR), whose software provisions and activates AT&T's smartphones.

    interesting how the early exclusive deal is still paying dividends - AT&T sells the most iPhones in the US even though Verizon is consistently ranked better in all categories (except 3G speeds)

    Several positives at today's meeting: ATT's head of mobile said ATT's Apple business is "growing faster than ever." The IP5 had severe availability problems during this time, so they undoubtedly see strong acceleration. The best news was about tablet growth. Execs were just giddy, as this comment indicates, "I can't fathom how many tablets will be under those Christmas trees," by the Mobility Chief. He added this would be a "breakthrough year" for tablets. The only negative is that if more were available the numbers could have even been better.

    Isn't it odd that the facts (such as those stated here) seem to show a good quarter for Apple, yet major holders are heading for the exits! Isn't all year-end "profit taking"? I hope so, just bought some more.

    Why do you think it will reverse today? Because of the little blurb we just read? Hope you are right, but technicals/momentum just doesnt support a reversal here. Apple could do something to reverse this slide, but doubt they will, before the technical selling will find it's natural support at $500.
