It looks like T-Mobile USA is finally getting the iPhone: Deutsche Telekom (DTEGY.PK) says its U.S. unit "has entered into an agreement with Apple (AAPL +2.1%) to bring products to market together in 2013." It doesn't provide further details, other than to say the deal will hurt DT's 2013 free cash flow (likely thanks to big purchase requirements/subsidies). Many were expecting an announcement this week. MetroPCS (PCS +1.7%), slated to merge with T-Mobile USA, is up a bit.

  • To go with their HSPA+ 4G network, faster download speeds than the pricier VZ network much much easier to deploy and better coverage once fully deployed(like in rural areas I was reading). Does TMobile 4G does not take anywhere near as long to set up as the other carriers 4G networks do , part of the benefits T Mobile received after being left at the altar by AT&T. They got $4b cash on top of AT&T existing HSPA network . With their Metro PCS purchase now the I phone appears T Mobile plans on being a big player in the carrier space again

  • I have not seen reports or details that HSPA+ was better then Verizon's LTE systems? Where did you get those details?

  • This will greatly help T Mobile's churn and will make them a greater threat to Sprint. Sprint has been able to pick up these subscribers as of late. This will hurt Sprint and further slow their growth at a time when they least need it.

  • I really don't see how it's relevant anymore
    Iphone is an overpriced antique

yes, users might continue to buy for some time given subsidies hide real price but AAPL share price shows what will happen in 6 months 1 year period

  • Right Kashirin...so is my 1929 Mercedes w/Suicide Doors. Samsung gives their stuff away and for good reason. And when the split is finally made and Samsung can't steal our technology anymore APPL will continue on and Samsung will be left in the dust.
