Not quite sure what this means.
Do INVN make the chips that STM put in their more complex tiny machines, namely, motion sensors?
I presume INVN and STM are not in competition here.

STM is INVN's biggest competitor in the motion sensor market (though far from the only one). An STM sensor is included in an Intel reference design for Windows 8 touchscreen hardware, which has helped it secure design wins with OEMs.

so, does this mean invn took business away from stm or is this a new type of business. it sounds to me that they're shipping in mass quantity and is a big deal. fill me in on any detail you know. reading the article it sound like the oem for windows base will have a few options by invensense but will they also have an option of stm chip?

It looks like they won some Windows 8 business at STM's expense. But the PR is sparse on details, so it's hard to know how much.
