Four of the five largest oil and gas discoveries in the world this year have been made offshore Mozambique, with Eni (E) and Anadarko (APC) sitting on as much as 85tcf of recoverable gas. The area's remoteness and lack of infrastructure means heavy spending will be needed on roads, railways and ports even before expensive new terminals are built to liquefy the first gas expected in 2018-19.

  • I am a retail investor from Scotland. I am long Anardarko, the reason being, they have gone to Africa to make money, and enlighten the poor people of Mozambique. Many civilizations have taken advantage of these deprived people. APC intends to build the infrastructure, and create technical jobs. The world will only progress, through a transfer of technology, rather the than imperialistic aspirations. Good on you Apc, I will continue to support to the end.
