    In a strange twist, the Egypt ETF (EGPT -7.4%) was halted earlier today even as actual Egyptian shares began trading for the first time in nearly 8 weeks. Now resumed, EGPT continues to bleed away the premium to NAV it acquired during the Egyptian market's closure.

  • The behavior of EGPT's sponsor, Market Vectors, has been nothing short of scandalous. They accepted a huge amount of cash for creation units of EGPT after the Egyptian stock exchange closed semi-permanently in January, leaving them unable to deploy the cash.
