    In a strange twist, the Egypt ETF (EGPT -7.4%) was halted earlier today even as actual Egyptian shares began trading for the first time in nearly 8 weeks. Now resumed, EGPT continues to bleed away the premium to NAV it acquired during the Egyptian market's closure.

    The behavior of EGPT's sponsor, Market Vectors, has been nothing short of scandalous. They accepted a huge amount of cash for creation units of EGPT after the Egyptian stock exchange closed semi-permanently in January, leaving them unable to deploy the cash.
