Wednesday, December 12, 2012, 5:06 PM ETIntel's (INTC) first batch of Haswell desktop CPUs will include 14 chips, according to a leaked table. All but one of them will be quad-core parts, and the cores will feature speeds ranging from 2.7GHZ.-3.5GHZ. Interestingly (especially in light of Intel's promotion of Haswell's power savings), the max power draw for the most powerful chips has risen to 84W from the 77W claimed by high-end Ivy Bridge desktop CPUs. With AMD stumbling and downsizing, Intel doesn't need to pull off any miracles with Haswell to maintain its CPU dominance. (previous)
