Wednesday, December 12, 2012, 6:34 PM ETThough Texas Instruments (TXN) just said it's seeing healthy demand from the e-reader market, IHS iSuppli's estimates depict an industry in freefall thanks to soaring tablet demand. The research firm predicts e-reader shipments will fall 36% this year to 14.9M, and drop another 27% next year to 10.9M. Meanwhile, IDC expects 122M tablet shipments in 2012. One positive datapoint: Amazon's (AMZN) favorably-reviewed Kindle Paperwhite is still out of stock until Dec. 20. (Pew Survey)
