More on the MetLife (MET) update: The OCC has given conditional approval to the sale MetLife Bank's deposits to GE Capital. The insurer still does not have a closing date, nor does it know if this will make the Fed more likely to allow greater capital returns in 2013 (transcript). Wishful thinking? Embedded in the firm's 2013 forecast (presentation) is the 10-year yield going to 2.38% by the end of 2013. If rates stay flat, it could knock another nickel off earnings.
