Don't panic about MLPs, Roger Conrad writes: While a deeper slump in North American energy drilling would force more retrenchment of growth plans and cut into growth of cash flow and distributions, there are lots of high-quality MLPs selling at bargain prices. Many MLPs, such as Linn Energy (LINE), have locked in lofty selling prices for their projected oil and natural gas output for several years.

  • Do you think the favorable tax treatment of MLPs will be affected by the current "fiscal cliff" negotiations

  • I am thinking that MLPs are to small an issue to make it to the radar screen. If not it sure will be a big mess. I think common since will prevail.

  • To Art W. Greene,

Sir, as a veteran of Southeast Asia (1969-1970) I salute you and thank you for helping to save the world from tyranny! I'm also in complete agreement with you regarding LINN, and today I bought LGCY at about $22.82. Forget trading. Be an investor....and good luck to you!
