    Making no mention of altering export quotas, China caps rare earth production at 93.8M tons in 2011, a 5% increase over 2010. Additionally, no new licenses for mines will be granted before June 2012. Premarket: MCP -2.1%, SHZ -1.6%, AVL -1.3%.

  • If this is all China has to do to create a drop in the value of non-China rare earth minerals, just wait until MCP and other mines come online. China will dump from her reserves (which have probably been created for just this purpose--remember, the US relies upon rare earth minerals for its military).

    The US (and other nations) MUST have a policy in place to protect these suppliers of Rare Earth Minerals when China fights back financially, and effectively, to put them out of business in a hurry.
