Instagram responds to the furor over its policy changes by promising it has no plans to allow photos to be part of regular ads, or to display banner ads of any kind, and only wants to help marketers promote their accounts - for example, by showing which of a user's "friends" are following an account. Meanwhile, Facebook (FB +3.7%) continues to flesh out its ad offerings: it now allows iOS app installs tied to its app download ads to happen without leaving Facebook, and (per AdAge) is preparing to launch a video ad product for news feeds.
