    It's not easy imitating Apple and Samsung: the WSJ reports Motorola Mobility (GOOG) is working on a high-end phone - codenamed the X Phone - but has had trouble incorporating features such as high-end imaging capabilities and a bendable display. The project is run by a former Google product manager; sources (possibly frustrated Motorola workers) say Google has filled Motorola with several dozen execs and product managers with no hardware experience. Motorola also reportedly has an "X Tablet" planned. (previous)

    Screen size, battery life, speed (although this has been a mixed picture on the tests), and features like a smart screen, smart dialing etc. in the current GS3.

    The Note 2 even bests those specs

    The battery life is longer because its a bigger battery. That's like saying your Suburban can run longer than my Accord.

    The ergonomics of the SG3 don't even come close to the iPhone. I can comfortably text and surf with one hand on the iPhone while the SG3 is simply awkward to hold with one to try and do these things. Also, if you're a dude, how does it even fit in your pocket?

    To each his own.... I find the IPhone screen tiny to look at (even after the decision to finally increase it to 4").

    And unlike the suburban/accord argument, it's very easy to have a bigger battery and certainly much more convenient. (kinda like microSD slots etc that Apple shuns as well)

    Amazing that some people still actually think the i-phone has superior specs.

    The HTC Droid DNA has even Leap frogged the Samsung Galaxy S3

    Display? (nobody has anything close) NFC. wireless charging, etc. (just to mane a few)

    The only thing AAPL has is an advantage in Apps and a Fan base in denial. But that will change over time as well.

    In fact, that's already happening, in both products, as well as the stock.

    Ignore the charts at your peril.

    I'm a dude, the S3 fits in my shirt pocket.
    The bigger screen is more convenient on the eyes for web browsing.
    As for battery life, I find the S3 sometimes sucking wind mid-day.

    Not an Apple fan boi, but I do admit that I like the interface for the iPhone better than Android. But that's the only thing that I like "better".

    I don;t know why google keeps wasting money this way. They never sold a PC but they are still the #1 browser and ad seller. Just do what you do well and sell ads.

    Googles Motorola phones are getting pricier which is good for Google, their bread and butter is still pay per click online advertising and they are/were cannibalizing themselves dumping all those mobile android devices on the marketplace unlike Apple

    Google's strategy to become a hardware maker will back fire.

    If they compete against Apple, they are also competing against Samsung....and Samsung gross-margins on phones is like 15-20%....vs apples 60-70%. How are they going to hurt apple without putting out of business other android makers?
    They have pure android phones, they are cannibalizing sales from other android hardware makers....at or near cost.

    Samsung could threaten to start using windows OS instead of android as leverage to get google out of the hardware business.

    The street is over hyping the Google phone effect. They assume that the carriers and android makers will just let google re-price the phone market and not do anything about it....

    Perhaps the current Android makers won't remain Android makers. Samsung's pushing Bada, their "wave" line running their own OS.

    Is it just me or does a bendable display sound like a gimmick? The inside components aren't going to be bendable, so what's the point?

    Would be quite useful in a fall if it bends instead of breaking. The screen is usually the first thing to break in those circumstances.

    Long term, I say there is plenty of room for all players. Emerging markets! (Latin America, India etc.) Maybe payment plans/service agreements would need to become creative/flexible, but I just don't think Nokia or RIM will fail or go bankrupt. I love my Samsung Galaxy S3, will probably buy my first Apple calls next week and am following Nokia very very closely. Room for all, just my two cents, I could be wrong ...

    Googl/android and apple even though every successful in the short term smartphone and mobile game don't seem to have a long term plan. Microsoft has taken a bold move towards integration of desktop and mobile with window 8.

    Samsung is a chaebol, Samsung Electronics is more diversified than Apple, Dell and HP combined!

    Yes I know South Koreas 18% GDP is samsung. But look out where the profit comes from. Its consumers. More like coal companies with 2B revenue and 80M market cap.

    Samsung does pretty well with copy paste and stealing stuff. First by screwing Sony and now copying Apple. But this strategy may not last long.

    Apple 1st adapted Sony designs. Furthermore the rest of the world doesn't agree with the US IP decision. The judge is backtracking to the impact of the jury's decision.
