Friday, December 21, 2012, 5:38 PM ETThough touchscreen controller vendors Atmel (ATML), Cypress (CY), and Synaptics (SYNA) have had a rough time lately, they're still involved in a growth market. Digitimes Research sees global touchscreen shipments rising 17% in 2013 to 1.75B, fueled by increases of 14% and 38%, respectively, in phone and tablet-related shipments. PC-related shipments are expected to more than triple (no doubt thanks to Windows 8/RT), but still amount to less than 2% of total volume.
