Google's (GOOG) miss matters to more than just Google shareholders. Earnings season has gotten off to a rather rocky start, Dave Kansas notes, and investors are growing antsy. Some companies have reported strong numbers - FCS, FAST, AA - and were still punished. Tech titans AAPL, MSFT and INTC are trading well off recent highs. Google’s miss doesn’t help the tone.

  • It's a $180B company with a projected double-digit revenue growth trading at 21 P/E and has the entire modern-day ad market by the round & curlys. In all likelihood, it'll be a $300B firm before it's $100B. In my opinion, this is a great buying opportunity if you're investing for that a few weeks.

Only thing is that $300B cap won't come at a $1000/share price tag. Dilution will be a heavy issue.

  • What companies are reporting and the behavior of Media/speculators is going in different directions, the big losers in this matter are the small investors who have more unjustified risks to invest in the stock market (the only one paying something meaningful).

Media is going against the small investor.
