Bingo, folks like Macro have a short timeline, Dems tend to start / partake in more aggressive foreign policy, partially because of the weakness they project here at home, ie massive debts, bad economy because of over regulation etc.

I believe Obama's Afgan war has taken more lives than the Iraq war.

By 2014 no one will remember the fiscal cliff. (In Nov no one remembered Obama ruined the economy for 4 years and devalued the dollar.) The only way to hold the dem base is to continue entitlements.

Romney had zero plans to cut any spending either.... AND wanted to go to war with Iran.

You guys have got to wake up and realize that the Dems AND Repubs play for the same team... and it ain't the one we're on.

We'll get a deal. More taxes, more spending, a bigger deficit and debt, which if I recall correctly was supposed to be addressed in these negotiations. But it doesn't really matter. Nobodys talking about it with the fiscal cliff on the front burner but the second that's "solved" we get to start the debt ceiling debate! Complete with posturing, finger pointing and the threat of America going into default! What fun!

In Jan ... pass a 2013 tax cut for those under $200k ... raises maybe $500 billion
Cut defense spending $120 billion

Redistribute to the base.

I don't really want to pay more in taxes, but if the country does go over the cliff I think it will be an inportant lesson for all of those who think the Bush tax cuts only cut taxes for the rich.
