Thursday, January 3, 10:05 AM ETShares of Ford (F +2%) break higher as investors warm up to the automaker's solid report on December sales amid a backdrop of a stressed consumer. Looking at the year as a whole, the automaker saw its F-Series truck show a double-digit gain in sales growth while it made strides with its lineup of fuel-efficient smaller models. Once again, the laggard was the Lincoln brand which Ford plans to give a shot in the arm in 2013.

2012 fall delivery. no one can give me info when it will be available.
this is part of lincoln's problems. will start looking at other brands.
Many thousands of the cars were rapidly built in Mexico, and then some were discovered with the problems on random pre-shipment quality inspection, so the whole production lot had to be sorted, and many held back from shipping to dealerships. And some that were shipped had to be stopped and held for inspection and retrofits as needed.
Basically they were "recalled" before they could even be delivered to the dealerships, in order to fix the problems. The bad news is, it is another "quality problem" for Ford and its supplier network, but the good news is that Ford's quality inspectors caught it before the cars got to the customers.
Chances are, your MkZ is built and parked in some parking lot somewhere, awaiting repairs. If you have the VIN number you may be able to track it down.
This is also why Fusion and MkZ sales were down about 15% in December, when they should have been up at least that much - about a third of them were held back.
