    Chipmakers Altera (ALTR -0.8%), Cypress (CY -0.9%), Lam Research (LRCX -1.8%), LSI (LSI -1.3%), and Volterra (VLTR -2.7%) tick lower after receiving downgrades to Equal Weight from Barclays. AMD (AMD -1.2%), which just removed the word "interim" from CFO Devinder Kumar's job title, has been downgraded to Underweight.

    I don't think analysts know what is happening in the upcoming product cycles. For example, S&P says " we expect LSI to benefit from significant new SSD product ramps at Intel, IBM, Oracle, Asus and others." but they have their sales estimate for 2013 down 5%. So I certainly wouldn't be selling semis when the market is going up. I would wait until I could find out when new products are coming out.
