China has the worst demographic profile of any major nation: a fertility rate well below replacement; rapidly rising dependent to worker ratio; labor force that is expected to peak in just a few years; feeble, unskilled and unhealthy older rural population ( growing fast)with no means to provide for itself other than help from their only child; and a hugely distorted male/female ratio which means that tens of millions of young Chinese males will be unable to marry and raise a family.

How can this a powerful force for growth in the next decade?

Well said; now tell us what you think about India, I agree with you on China but I think India has been sowing the seeds for strong economy for decades and will likely do very well in the future. It's only really weakness seems to be a fragmented political authority.
