Google (GOOG) has done a management shuffle for its Asia-Pac ops. Karim Temsamani, most recently the company's VP of  products and solutions for the Americas, is the new Asia-Pac chief. He replaces Daniel Alegre, who's now responsible for global business partner relationships. The change comes 13 days before Google delivers its Q4 report, and at a time when Asia-Pac is growing in strategic importance to Google, in spite of its China woes.

  • GOOG is totally dumb here. While AAPL is embracing Chinese consumer market and manufacturing capabilities with open arms, GOOG is fighting a losing battle against Beijing.

China is the most populous nation, 2nd largest economy, and only super power that could rival the U.S. To cede that entire market must be a totally dumb decision.
