Wednesday, January 9, 1:41 PM ETA federal court has thrown out a lawsuit brought by ViroPharma (VPHM +0.2%) against the FDA that sought to stop the agency from approving three generic versions of the company's antibiotic Vancocin, saying the drug developer failed to produce any new evidence. Vancocin, a treatment for Clostridium difficile and other gastrointestinal infections, accounted for about $289M in VPHM’s sales in 2011, and constitutes about half of its revenue.
