    The U.S. could save $2T in healthcare costs over ten years, a report from the nonpartisan Commonwealth Fund argues. The figure is four times the figure estimated by UnitedHealth. The fund recommends setting GDP per capita spending targets, better co-ordination in treatment, and tying payment to results rather than just use of services.

  • Tie payment to results and you will suddenly find doctors and hospitals finding reasons not to take the difficult cases, and certainly not to expend any resources treating them. Of course, those are the people who actually need medical care in the first place.

    More fantasyland fairytales that "somebody else" is going to make the sacrifices.
