A few more details on Facebook's (FB) Graph Search event: The product is still in limited beta, and no ETA is provided for mobile availability. Results are based on a ranking algorithm. Mark Zuckerberg says Graph Search "extends quite nicely" to Facebook's sponsored search product, but monetization isn't a priority for now. Would Facebook consider working with Google (GOOG)? "We want to work with any company as long as they'll honor the privacy of the folks on Facebook." (previous: I, II) (live blog)

  • What few FB users understand is that FB seems to be free because the THE PRODUCT BEING SOLD IS THE USER.

The currency is the user's privacy.

  • Couldn't agree with you more. There's no privacy whatsoever when everything that you put on your FB page is out there for the whole world to see. And FB is making money from our losss of privacy, so yes, the product sold is indeed the user. What a douche-bag!! To even dare to say anything about protecting privacy.

  • "monetization isn't a priority for now"? So it'll be free to start with, but then they'll charge for it?

What a great business model; FB is sure to prosper...
