Giant international carrier Orange (FTE) boasts Google (GOOG) is paying it to offset the cost of delivering Google's services to mobile subscribers. CEO Stephane Richard doesn't disclose exactly how much Google, which accounts for a giant chunk of mobile traffic just via YouTube, is paying, though he says the figure isn't in the "hundreds of millions." GigaOm's David Meyer isn't happy with Google's behavior, both due to the net neutrality implications and the precedent it could set for others. Might some carriers ask Netflix or Facebook to pay them as well?
