    ConocoPhillips (COP) urges Norway to open up more of its Arctic waters for development, citing the country's ice-free waters, access to the European natural gas market and skilled workforce. Efforts to exploit the Arctic's vast energy reserves have provided a target for environmental activists, but especially in areas with heavier sea ice cover, such as Alaska.
