Ford (F), Daimler (DDAIF.PK), and Renault (RNSDF.PK) will team up to share development costs for fuel-cell vehicles systems. Despite the persistent doubts, the automakers think the emission-free technology might have a future if system designs are in common and volumes can be leveraged to achieve an economy of scale.

  • If we had more standardization in industry . Like Ford door could replace GM door, etc. It would boost economy. Still encourage skill and competition. End world hunger and homelessness. Which there is no good reason for. Jamie Johnson and I spoke about such things when we were both younger men. The 1% was my idea. Seems to be mostly big brain people here at SA. Generous and with good hearts.
Though he was the one who said, you could equally distribute all the world's monies among the entire population. In five years the same people would have it all back. That isn't what I'm suggesting.

  • This is sort of analogous to Ford and GM working together to produce fuel efficient 6-speed automatic transmissions, over the last 5 years or so. Now transmissions with 7, 8, and even 9-speeds are coming along. When these things, which are becoming more like components and commodities like spark plugs, can be jointly developed and manufactured, it saves everyone money.
