  • How likely is this to be approved? I thought NG export was banned by federal govt due to national security concerns...?

  • The first approval is for export to free-trade countries, then another approval needed for export to countries that are not free trade partners. At this point I do not believe KMI has any approval.

Washington will have to make a policy decision because companies are lining up to export. Some in DC oppose export because they want to keep the cost of NG low, others believe we have plenty of NG to keep prices low and export. DOE report stated economy will benefit from export. We shall see.

  • The Elba Island terminal received Dept. of Energy approval in June to export 4 million tons per year of LNG to countries with which we have trade agreements, which is nearly all of them. Done deal.

  • That's not accurate, at this point they only have approval to export to "free trade partners" which is a select number of countries. They have applied for approval to non-free trade countries.

  • Why Georgia? There isn't any gas close to there. Pipeline from the Marcellus?

  • Look at a Kinder asset map, especially the EPB assets and you will see EPB has assets in Georgia.

  • OK, now I see it. This is Gulf Coast gas that is looking for a home since the Marcellus is backing out that market. Didn't realize the pipe was so close to Georgia.
