    Ford (F) January U.S. sales: +22.0% to 166,501 vehicles with retail sales up a brisk 24%. The Ford brand up 23.3% to 131,589 to help offset another slip in Lincoln sales. A big month for the Ford Fusion, up 65% to 22,399. The highly-watched C-Max Hybrid registered 2,725 sales for the month. The automaker's sales soared past the consensus estimate of analysts calling for a 17% Y/Y monthly gain. (PR)

    News like this, and the stock is up less than 1%? We seem to be falling back into the 'no love' cycle of the last few years. Some big money is keeping their boot on Ford's neck...any thoughts on who?

    I don't believe in the Big Money theory but I am becoming pessimistic on the appropriateness of the market for long term investment. The problem is that there is too much speculation (trading et al) and thus basic investment guidelines are becoming less and less applicable in this growing speculation oriented market. Soon Longs will have to join the speculation herd or leave the market. This is not very good for Capitalism, unfortunately in the current climate, I don't see a solution.

    Don't be pessimistic.

    Buy good companies when the traders have left their stock on the trading room floor.

    JoseV, the solution to the "no love" cycle is to have faith in the dividend. If Ford brings in the money, they'll reward you with the dividend, no matter what you can buy one share for. They're already doing this, just recently doubling it from $.05 to $.1!

    Month on month fantastic news along with greater employment and a gang busters oil and gas sector that has an insatiable hunger for oversized trucks and yet this stock is at 13 $ !!! It should be 18 $ right this second AT LEAST based upon normal fundamentals. All the Apple groupies are in the trauma wards suffering from PTSD but if Apple were to suddenly be judged by the same negative and condescending criteria as Ford, there would be mass suicides going on right now. Yet you had analysts with buy ratings of Apple at 1111 $ and Amazon has a p/e of 3690. Where is the logic ?????

    I think people have to start calling Spades Spades and admit that Ford's stock has been almost totally a CNBC Production the past year or so.

    The Ninnies - Fast and Otherwise - got it wrong and then compounded their wrong with a whole series of wrongs.

    Yet another proof that the Self-Anointed Ones should possibly never have been Anointed in the first place, however long ago that first place was.

    Actually, this is an immense victory for OUR side of the market - and for us.

    I think advertising is the big push for this stock. get them in the show room anyway you can,after all the competition is so close it comes down to looks and fashion.
