Friday, February 1, 5:26 PM ETRackspace (RAX) hopes to gain ground against Amazon by providing 3 reference architectures for its OpenStack cloud infrastructure services: one covers variable computing workloads, another external storage, and another storage distributed across regions. Rackspace has also certified AMD/SeaMicro's (AMD) SM15000 high-density/low-power server and Brocade's (BRCD) VDX Ethernet switches (capable of pooling resources into a fabric) for use with its OpenStack offerings.
