  • No suprise here. In the media $YUM is getting some negative attention in most major news outlets in China. US investors out of the loop aren't hearing anything, but the impact is going to be felt for years to come.

  • Wonder what is causing this 'Chinese crater"; I smell a rat, something fishy. Wasn't it supposedly all peachy all along? No warning?

    Not good.

  • This has been on my Watch List for a while. Do most think this is a good opportunity/price to open a position? Close to 52 week low, will be for my long term dividend taxable account......

  • I too am wondering what is going on. I go down to my local KFC in Beijing from time to time. The first thing I notice is that the price is up about 25% since late 2011. The second thing I notice is that there seems to be less promotion of KFC going on than there used to be. You'd think a company in trouble would be rolling out promotions. Is this a head fake of some kind?

  • some executive in kfc should be fire for what happen
he think profit is more important than health and put more homones to grow his chicken.
Knowing what I know kfc may never recover from this in China.

The next quarter will be really bad because business is really bad in the last 2 weeks in december and will carry over to the next quarter.

  • Interested to see the conference call on this - saw a mention of new promotion campaign coming out in China to address these concerns. Also worth noting, Toyota/Japan suffered/is suffering from similar negative press in China. I'm thinking along the lines of BP on this one and more a matter of 'when' I pull the trigger than 'if'.

  • Well China, after all the crap you have put in your exports, this sounds like your chickens have come home to roost.

  • But maybe this is related with the coming Chinese New Year around the corner and the impending Coronation of Emperor Xi.

    LOL! ROFL!
